Scroll

Ilex paraguariensis is the scientific name of the holly plant known as yerba mate. Yerba mate is consumed in the form of an infusion by adding the dried leaves and stems of the plant into a recipient, traditionally a hollowed-out calabash gourd, adding hot water and drinking from it using a filtered straw.

In my paper about Yerba Mate, I analyze three distinct sources to highlight the significance of yerba mate through distinct lenses.
